Victims of domestic violence will have access to better support systems in health, legal and safety, as part of a new partnership with Queensland Health launched today.
The Women’s Legal Service (WLSQ) has established a Health Justice Partnership with Logan Hospital, to improve outcomes for women experiencing domestic violence.
The program will enable solicitor’s from WLSQ to provide free legal advice to patients in hospital in relation to family law, domestic violence and child protection matters.

Currently the program is federally-funded until 2019, with the possibility of extending it to other hospitals.
Domestic violence is the leading cause of death, disability and illness for Australian women aged 15-44.
