Starbucks have brewed up a war on social media following the unveiling of their annual holiday cup.
The iconic Christmas cup, which has featured an array of festive designs including snowflakes and reindeers since it first appeared in 1997, has this year upset a lot of people due to its ‘simplistic’ design.

Social media users took to the online platform a to vent their disgust over the design, with many claiming the cups are a “war on Christmas.”
Even Donald Trump weighed in on the controversy during a rally in Illinois on Monday.
“No more ‘Merry Christmas’ at Starbucks. No more,” Trump said, noting that the coffee giant is among his tenants at Trump Tower in Manhattan. “Maybe we should boycott Starbucks, the presidential candidate said.
Ellen also dedicated a segment of her talk-show to the “non-religious cups”.
