Donald Trump to be discharged from hospital today

US President Donald Trump has announced he will be leaving hospital today, to continue his treatment for coronavirus at the White House.

The President and First Lady Melania Trump tested positive on Friday, with Trump then having to be hospitalised at the Walter Reed Military Hospital over the weekend.

He made international headlines when he sensationally left isolation at the hospital yesterday, to drive around in a large motorcade waving at supporters.

This morning, from his presidential suite in hospital, he’s announced he will be discharged today.

He’s also advised people not to be afraid of Covid.

“I will be leaving the great Walter Reed Medical Center today at 6:30 P.M. Feeling really good! Don’t be afraid of Covid. Don’t let it dominate your life,” his Twitter post reads.

“We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs & knowledge. I feel better than I did 20 years ago!”

Trump’s physician Sean Conley says he’ll have the best team around him to continue his recovery at the White House.

“He’s returning to a facility, White House medical unit, that’s staffed 24/7, top-notch, physicians , nurses, PAs, logisticians, and the unit here is going to continue to support us in that nature,” Doctor Conley said.
