Donald Trump wins republican nomination
Donald Trump has officially become the Republican Party’s presidential nominee.
The billionaire businessman secured the 1,237 delegates he needed to officially grab the nomination after a roll call vote at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio.
It was his hometown of New York that bumped him over the line with 89 delegates.
“It’s my honor to be able to throw Donald Trump over the top in the delegation count tonight,” Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr said.
“Congratulations Dad, we love you!” he screamed alongside his sisters Ivanka and Tiffany and brother Eric.

His nomination comes a day after his wife Melania Trump was criticised for allegedly plagiarizing her Republican National Convention speech from Michelle Obama.
