Dragons too good for Raiders in Wollongong

NRL Round 10 Review - St George Illawarra Dragons v Canberra Raiders 1

Canberra Raiders travelled up to Win Stadium in Wollongong on Sunday to take on St George Illawarra Dragons and held high hopes due to their current form coming into the match. However, a very classy Dragons outfit led by their halves, Gareth Widdop and Benji Marshall, were just too good for a Green Machine team that were not blown off the park entirely. The Dragons ran out 32-18 winners in the end following a 16 point haul to Widdop.

The game started in very controversial fashion following on from Canberra’s defeat to the Dragons back in round three. Jarrod Croker was in on the try line before stumbling and being “tackled’ although the referees did NOT call held. Croker was within his right to keep going and plant the ball considering the only hand still near him was on the ball and not touching him. The on-field referee ruled a no try and checked for the double movement upstairs. This brings back memories for Raiders fans from round two where Austin was ruled to have made…
