A man has been arrested and charged after allegedly breaking into three homes in Nowra last night before barricading himself inside one them.
Police say that at about 9.20pm, a 34-year-old man allegedly entered three separate homes on Cox Avenue.
Upon entering one of the homes, he allegedly armed himself with a shard of glass and knives and barricaded himself inside.

Officers including the dog unit raced to the scene and began negotiations with the man.
The resident of the home, an 86-year-old man, was able to escape uninjured before the 34-year-old surrendered himself to police.
He has since been charged with break and enter, enter enclosed lands, destroy or damage property, and use offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention.
He is due to appear at Nowra Local Court today.
