Dreamworld have announced this morning that over $150,000 will be donated to the families of those killed in the ride tragedy in October, following a successful charity weekend at the theme park.
Ardent Leisure Group CEO and Managing Director, Deborah Thomas, today announced $157,225 would be donated from the “Open Hearts-Open Doors“ charity weekend to the Red Cross.
The donation will be distributed to those affected by the tragedy through the GIVIT Appeal Independent Distribution Committee, which aims to provide to the needs of the families of those who lost their lives.

“We will continue to offer our support to the families who lost their loved ones.”
“Our talented Dreamworld team were ready to reopen our doors and were touched by the warmth and kindness shown by so many of our visitors this weekend,” Ms Thomas said.
“Altogether, we welcomed back over 6,000 guests raising $157,225.
“On behalf of our over 1000 Dreamworld employees I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful Gold Coast community and the thousands of special people who travelled to Dreamworld this weekend.”
