Driver allegedly six-times over the limit nabbed in citizen’s arrest

RESIDENTS of a Sydney suburb have carried out a citizen’s arrest on a driver who later allegedly blew more than six-times over the legal limit.

Police say, about 3:50pm on Friday, the 46-year-old man attempted to park a Nissan Navara sedan on Merriville Road in Kellyville Ridge and blocked an entrance to a round-a-bout.

Concerned by his actions and behaviour, residents detained the man and called police.

Officers from Quakers Hill Police Area Command attended, and the man returned a positive reading to a roadside breath test.

He was arrested and taken to Riverstone Police Station where he underwent a breath analysis and returned an alleged reading of 0.378.

His driver’s licence was suspended and the Budgewoi local was issued a Court Attendance Notice for 11 March 2019.
