FOUR teenage boys have allegedly flagged down a car, pretending to need help before bashing and robbing its driver in an ambush on the Gold Coast.

It happened near Hungary Jacks in Labrador on Saturday night.

Police said the motorist was flagged down by a boy requesting help on Jacob Drive, near Dodgers Park around 11pm.

As the man got out of his car, it’s alleged three other boys emerged from the darkness and jumped him.

The boys allegedly bashed the man before running off with his shoes, jumper, hat and mobile phone.

Battered and bruised, the motorist called police and needed to be taken to hospital for treatment of facial injuries.

Officers rushed to the scene and arrested the thugs nearby.

The boys, three aged 16 and one 17, have all since been charged with one count each of robbery and obstructing police.

One of the 16-year-old boys from Biggera Waters has also been charged with possessing utensils.
