Driver bashed and robbed after pulling over for ‘injured man’

A Good Samaritan has been ambushed on a suburban street in Brisbane.

He was driving a vehicle along Cripps Street in Salisbury around 8pm on Friday when flagged down by a man claiming to be injured.

Police say the driver pulled over and got out of his car, but was then set upon by the ‘injured’ man and a second male.

The two men assaulted him and took a baseball bat to his car.

One of the offenders attempted to rummage through the car, but the victim was able to fend him off and call for help.

The two men took off in a green sedan that was parked nearby.

The driver of the car received minor injuries to his face.

Police say investigations are continuing.
