Driver charged after car surfer breaks leg

A man has become trapped under a car, after allegedly jumping on to the bonnet before sliding off.

He suffered a broken leg and is recovering in hospital, while the driver has been charged.

Investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the incident, which took place in Sydney’s Hills District around 1am on Saturday.

Police say the 23-year-old p-plate driver was travelling on Arcadia Road in Galston when the 26-year-old man jumped onto the bonnet of the car.

Officers spoke to the driver of the car and performed a breath analysis, which allegedly returned a positive reading of 0.152.

He has been charged with aggravated dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, driving with a High Range PCA and dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily whilst under the influence.

He will appear in court on 8 June.
