Driver killed in truck rollover in Gold Coast Hinterland

LATEST  @ 12.15 PM |  Police have confirmed a truck driver has died following a horror crash in the Hinterland this morning.

The prime mover was travelling along Waterford Tamborine Road at Tamborine around 5.40am, when it veered off the road and collided with a tree.

The truck then rolled down an embankment, trapping the 33-year-old driver inside the vehicle.

Sadly, police confirmed in a statement a short time ago that the man, from Flagstone, died at the scene.

Police are appealing for anyone with information or dash cam to come forward.

Investigations are ongoing.

EARLIER @ 7.00 AM by Matt McDonald | A man has suffered critical injuries after his truck rolled in the Gold Coast Hinterland.

The accident happened on Waterford Tamborine Rd in Tamborine just after 5.30am on Monday.

Emergency services remain on the scene with the driver reportedly ‘heavily trapped’.

Waterford Tamborine Rd is currently closed in both directions near Greenaward Rd.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area.
