Driver critically injured after rolling 4WD down embankment in Qld
A man is in a critical condition after crashing his 4WD at Eungella, west of Mackay on Sunday morning.
The accident happened on the Mackay-Eungella Road around 5:30am.
Police said the eastbound four-wheel drive left the road and rolled down a steep embankment.
The driver and sole occupant, a 27-year-old man, suffered critical injuries.
Somehow, he managed to crawl out of the wreckage and back up the embankment where he was located by a member of the public at around 6:30am.
The 27-year-old man from Finch Hatton was transported to Mackay Base Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
