Driver dies after colliding with kangaroo in Victoria

A man has died after losing control of his car and crashing into a tree north of Melbourne this morning.

The accident happened along Mt. Eliza Road in Kerrie, near Gisborne, at around 7am.

Police said early investigations indicated that the vehicle had collided with a kangaroo before spinning out of control and crashing into a tree on the side of the road.

The male driver died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.Police said a deceased kangaroo was found at the scene.
