Driver dies in hospital after car hits tree north of Brisbane

A MAN has died in hospital after the car he was driving smashed into a tree north of Brisbane this morning.

The accident happened in Mango Hill at Moreton Bay around 12.20am.

Police said the 29-year-old man was driving along Anzac Avenue when his car left the road and hit a tree.

The man was rushed to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

Sadly, police released a statement a few hours later, confirming the man had since passed away.

He was the only person in the car at the time.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
