Driver dragged from car and kicked in the face during vicious car park robbery

A MAN has been dragged from his car, punched to the ground and kicked in the face during a vicious robbery in Sydney’s south-east overnight.

It’s understood the 34-year-old victim was sitting in a car with a friend in the car park of a Botany Bay National Park about 8pm on Friday when another man approached him demanding money.

The man was allegedly dragged from his car, punched to the ground then kicked in the face before two passers-by intervened.

Police said the alleged offender fled the scene with a GPS device.

The injured man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to Prince of Wales Hospital.

Police were provided a description of a car and, about 10.30pm, stopped a similar vehicle on Anzac Parade at La Perouse and arrested the 22-year-old male driver.

He was taken to Maroubra Police Station, where he was interviewed and later charged with aggravated robbery, and possess a prohibited drug.
