Driver hospitalised after smashing into tree along major Gold Coast road

A man has luckily escaped serious injury, after his car crashed into a tree on the Gold Coast last night.

It happened along Currumburra Road near Mulyan Place in Ashmore in the early hours of this morning.

Paramedics were called to the scene around 1.30am, where they briefly assessed a man in his 30s for minor injuries.

He was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition as a precaution.

Earlier in the night, paramedics responded to a single car crash in Labrador, where two people were assessed.

One was taken to hospital in a stable condition for further treatment, while the other declined transport.
