The utility flipped onto its roof on impact and burst into flames.

Sadly the driver, a 63-year-old man from Queensland, died at the scene.

The 46-year-old man driving the truck sustained head and back injuries and was treated by paramedics at the scene before being airlifted to Canberra Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The horrific accident occurred in the same area where, just 12 hours earlier, a man was killed and four others injured, one of them critically, when the car they were in left the road and hit a tree.

Officers from the Murray River Police District are investigating the circumstances surrounding both crashes and will prepare reports for the information of the Coroner.
