Driver killed in shocking T-bone crash
A 72-YEAR-OLD man has been killed after his car was T-boned by a ute in Brisbane’s south overnight.
It happened where Beenleigh Road meets Nursery Road at Runcorn around 9.45pm.
Police said a Toyota Hilux ploughed into the side of the elderly man’s Toyota Corolla.
The Hilux smashed straight into the driver’s door, killing the 72-year-old man.
Police are investigating if excessive speed played a part in the crash which happened in a 70km/h zone.

The 24-year-old man who was driving the Hilux was spared serious injury.
He was taken to the Princes Alexandra Hospital for treatment.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash and are urging for witnesses to come forward.
Anyone who was travelling along Beenleigh Road around the time of the crash and may have seen the Toyota Hilux prior to the crash is urged to contact police.
Investigators are particularly keen to speed with anyone who may have dashcam footage.
