Driver killed in ute rollover

A WOMAN has died after the ute she was driving collided with a tree and rolled in central west NSW overnight.

The accident happened just before 8.30pm on Banjo Patterson Way, around 10km south of Yeoval.

Police said the woman’s utility rolled after veering off the road and hitting a tree.

Sadly, the woman suffered life-threatening injuries and died at the scene.

She was the only person travelling in the ute at the time and is yet to be formally identified.

Officers from Orana Mid Wester Police District established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Banjo Patterson Way remained closed in both directions for several hours following the crash while the scene was examined by the forensic crash unit.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
