Driver loses control; smashes through Logan home

A family has had a lucky escape after a driver lost control and smashed through a Logan home in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Police say the man was driving along Gaskell Street around 1.45am when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed through the back fence of a residence in Leelaban Place before ending up in the lounge room of the house.

Thankfully nobody inside the home was injured and the 25-year-old driver from Underwood also escaped injury.

He was taken into custody at the scene and was later issued with a notice to appear in relation to two charges, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle while adversely affected by an intoxicating substance and driving over the general alcohol limit but not over the middle alcohol limit.

He is due to appear in the Holland Park Magistrates Court on December 22.
