Driver on the run after ute ploughs into power pole

Investigations are underway after a driver fled the scene of a nasty rollover on the northern Gold Coast early this morning.

A Queensland Police spokesperson told myGC a blue Mazda ute was travelling east along Foxwell Road at Coomera when it lost control around 1.05am.

The vehicle then slammed into a power pole near Main Street, before rolling and coming to a stop on its roof.

“A man described by a witness as aged in his 20’s got out of the vehicle and fled the scene,” Queensland Police said in a stamenet.

He remains at large this morning, with investigations underway to track him down.

Police are working to determine whether or not the vehicle invovled was stolen.
