A ute has ploughed into a shop on the Gold Coast, with the driver doing a runner.
Seven News journalist Bianca Stone told myGC the accident occurred on Station Street at Nerang around 11.00am this morning.
“It appears the car was travelling northbound when it came up to a pedestrian crossing. The passenger of the ute said the brakes failed and the car has then gone through a shopfront window.”

The driver is believed to have stopped at the scene, however did a runner shortly after, leaving behind two passengers.
Luckily the shop is vacant and no one was injured in the smash.
A cleanup is currently underway.
