Drugs and stolen property found in raids on the Tweed

SIMULTANEOUS raids on properties on the Tweed has led to the seizure of alleged stolen property and drugs.

Police from the local Target Action Group and Detectives executed two search warrants at homes on Cabana Court, Banora Point, and Lagoon Road, Fingal Head on Friday morning.

At the Cabana Court location, police seized an amount of methyl-amphetamine, cannabis, stolen property/vehicles and cash.

At the Fingal Head premises officers seized stolen property/vehicles and prohibited drugs.

Investigators will allege that they seized a Bostitch nail gun, multiple Samsung tablets and mobile phones, multiple iPad Mini’s, iphones, car/box trailers and a Toro lawn mower on a trailer.

Two men, aged 31 and 38, were arrested and taken to Tweed Heads Police Station.

The 38-year-old was charged with 17 drugs and stealing offences and was given conditional bail to appear at Lismore Local Court next month.

The 31-year-old was charged with eight similar offences and was refused bail to appear at Tweed Heads Local Court on Monday.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who has had property stolen that have not yet reported it to the police to contact Police Assistance Line on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers.
