Drunk diner glasses security guard in the face after being asked to leave restaurant

A MAN has been charged with allegedly glassing a security guard in the fast at a restaurant in Cabramatta overnight.

Police say emergency crews were called to the restaurant on Hughes Street at around 10.30pm on Saturday following reports of an altercation.


On arrival, officers found a 62-year-old male security guard with cuts to his neck and face.

It’s alleged that a young drunk customer smashed a wine glass over the security guard’s head after being asked to leave for being too drunk.

The 62-year-old was treated at the scene for cuts to his neck and face, before being taken to Liverpool Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The 25-year-old-man was arrested and charged with wound with intent to cause grievous bodily harm after he was treated at Liverpool Hospital for cuts to his hands.

He has since been granted conditional bail to appear in Liverpool Local Court on Monday 23 November.
