Drunk driver clocked at 142km/h in 80 zone has his Commodore impounded
A man has had his Holden Commodore impounded after he was clocked travelling at more than 60km/h above the speed limit while drunk in Melbourne’s south-east.
Highway Patrol officers clocked the sedan travelling at 142km/h in an 80km/h zone on Thompson Road in Bangholme, near Dandenong South, just before 2.30pm on Thursday.
Police intercepted the vehicle and spoke with the 38-year-old male driver who was breath tested and allegedly returned a reading of 0.111.
The man is expected to be charged on summons with drink driving and speeding traffic related offences.
His vehicle was impounded.
