A car has ploughed into a unit in Newcastle on Monday morning, narrowly missing the couple sleeping inside.
Police say the Mitsubishi Lancer was being driven west on Georgetown Road, Waratah when it left the roadway, crashed through a fence and into a unit on Harriet Street.
The car stopped just short of hitting a bed where two people inside were sleeping. The man and woman were uninjured but the unit sustained significant damage.
