Drunk driver loses control, crashes into parked cars on Sydney street

A driver who ploughed into three parked cars in Sydney’s west overnight was drunk, police say.

The 21-year-old man allegedly lost control of his vehicle along South Parade in Auburn just before 2am and crashed into three parked cars.

Police arrived and found the man uninjured in a nearby street.

After failing a roadside breath test, he was arrested and taken to Auburn Police Station where he was subjected to a second, more thorough breath analysis.

The man allegedly returned an official alcohol reading of 0.171 – that’s more than three times the legal limit.

The 21-year-old was charged with high-range PCA and is due to appear before Burwood Local Court on Tuesday 5 July.
