A woman more than twice the legal alcohol limit has forced the evacuation of dozens of residents after crashing her car into a loading dock at a shopping centre in Sydney’s east.
The Volkswagon Golf hit a gas pipe in the loading dock of the East Village Shopping Centre on Defries Ave just before 3.15am.
The gas leak forced Fire and Rescue NSW to evacuate a nearby apartment building.

The 20-year-old driver was breath-tested, returning a reading of 0.110.
She’s been charged with Mid Range PCA and will front court next month.
