Drunk, unlicensed driver charged after overnight crash
An allegedly drunk and unlicensed driver has been charged with a string of offences after crashing an unregistered car in Pimpama.
A Nissan Murano was travelling south on Rifle Range Rd around 10.15pm on Wednesday night.
The car hit signs and mounted a road island shortly after turning onto The Heights Boulevard.
The female driver was not injured in the crash but reportedly left the scene.
She returned a short time later but Police will allege she refused to take a roadside breath test.
The woman was detained and taken back to the Police station for a secondary test where she allegedly blew 0.17.
The 44-year-old from Pimpama has been charged with driving under the influence, fail to provide specimen, driving of motor vehicle without a driver licence, drive uninsured, using, or permitting use of, vehicle for which a number plate attached recorded as cancelled, lost, stolen, destroyed or damaged and vehicles used on roads must be registered.
She will front the Southport Magistrates Court on April 4.
