Drunk woman loses licence, has car impounded after South Australia crash

Police say a woman who crashed her car through a fence at Mount Gambier in South Australia last night was drunk, very drunk.

The 39-year-old woman lost control of her car and crashed it through a fence on Byrne Street just before 6pm.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the crash.

The female driver was subjected to a roadside breath test, which police say she failed.

It’s alleged she recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.292, which is almost six times the legal limit.

The woman was stripped of her licence, which was immediately suspended for 12 months, and her car was impounded for 28 days.

Police said the woman would be summonsed to appear in court at a later date on the charges of drink driving and driving without due care.
