Duo on the run after dramatic armed hold up

A Logan pub has been robbed by two armed men, who are believed to have been behind a violent car jacking.

Around 11.50pm on Saturday, two men armed with a sawn-off shotgun and a tomahawk walked into the hotel on Kingston Road in Underwood and demanded a male worker hand over money.

They then got away with a stack of cash in a dark blue Ford sedan.

It was found damaged in a nearby underground carpark around 12.30am.

Police were then called to the intersection of St Andrews Terrace and Beenleigh Road at Kuraby following reports of a traffic crash.

On arrival, officers located a black Toyota sedan with significant damage. The occupants of the vehicle had fled the scene before police arrived.

Preliminary investigations suggest the Toyota had been stolen by two men from Ellis Place, Underwood around 12.20am.

The 35-year-old male driver of the car was assaulted during this incident.
