Early morning fire tears through Gold Coast home

MULTIPLE fire crews have rushed to a Gold Coast home in the early hours of this morning after a massive fire broke out.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services say they received multiple calls about a house on fire in Gilston around 3.15am.

When firefighters arrived they found the home fully alight.

Six crews were needed to battle the blaze which has since been brought under control.

A QFES spokesperson has confirmed nobody was in the home at the time.

It’s understood the property has sustained significant damage.

Investigators will head to the scene today to try and determine the cause.
