Early morning storms drench SE Qld
Gold Coasters have woken to rain, with early morning storms hitting South East Queensland.
The Bureau of Meteorology says an upper trough has produced the storms, which are expected to hang around for most of the morning.
The weather is expected to clear this afternoon though, with the heavy rain drizzling out to light showers.
Light 15 to 20 km/h winds are also expected in the early afternoon.

It’s good news for people planning to head outdoors this weekend, with the weather bureau predicting sunny skies on both Saturday and Sunday.
