Ebola panic spreads to Melbourne

A MELBOURNE man who is believed to be suffering with an infection has been taken to hospital by paramedics in full protective gear.

There had been reports the man recently returned from West Africa, sparking another Ebola-related panic, but authorities quickly squashed those rumours.

Ambulance Victoria told media the man was suffering with symptoms including a headache, nausea and a fever, likely due to an infection.

Paramedics took standard precautions used for infectious diseases, which includes personal protection equipment.

The man was taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital in a stable condition.
