Ed Sheeran awarded MBE at Buckingham Palace
Ed Sheeran has been awarded a Member of the Order of the British Empire for his services to music and charity.
The 26-year-old was presented with the honour from Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace.
The Royal Family posted the news on their Twitter account, writing: “Today at Buckingham Palace The Prince of Wales hosted an Investiture Ceremony.
“Among today’s recipients was @edsheeran who received an #MBE for his services to music and charity.”

While it was a special day for the singing superstar, it was also an emotional one.
“My grandfather…he died on this day four years ago, so it’s actually quite a nice full circle thing,” Sheeran said, according to Clarence House.
“I guess he’d be pretty proud.”
