Eight injured, four seriously, in mini-bus crash in regional NSW

Eight people have been injured in a mini-bus crash west of Tamworth.

About 7am on Monday the Hyundai Imax was travelling south on the Newell Highway, 5km north of Coonabarabran, when it left the road and struck a tree.

One passenger, a 31-year-old woman, was airlifted from the scene with serious spinal injuries.


Another woman, 24, was taken by ambulance to Narrabri Hospital with spinal injuries.

Six others were taken to Coonabarabran hospital, before a 10-year-old boy and a 60-year-old woman were then airlifted to Orange Hospital with serious internal injuries.

The Newell Highway was closed until 2pm while investigations took place.
