Eight passengers pile out of car being driven by drunk driver in Sydney
EIGHT passengers have piled out of a car being driven by a drunk driver in Sydney on Sunday morning.
Police spotted the car travelling along Yarra Road in La Perouse with a flat tyre around 8.45am.
Officers intercepted the vehicle and subjected the driver to a breath test, which he failed.
As officers took a closer look at the vehicle, they counted seven people sitting in the back, along with an eighth person sitting in the front-passenger seat.
The 23-year-old man behind the wheel was arrested and taken to Maroubra Police Station where police say he returned a breath analysis reading of 0.172.
The man, from Bondi Junction, was charged with a high-range PCA offence, as well as drive with four or more unrestrained passengers.
He was granted conditional bail to appear in Waverley Local Court on May 10.
