Eighth person charged over ‘bodies in the box’ murders in Logan

A New Zealand man is due to front court today after becoming the eighth person to be charged over the ‘bodies in the box murders’ in Logan.

The 28-year-old was extradited from Auckland on Thursday afternoon and charged with two counts of murder.

He is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court this morning.

It follows the deaths of Cory Breton and Iuliana Triscaru, whose bodies were found in a large metal tool box, submerged in a Kingston dam in February 2016.

The couple were believed to have been abducted before their deaths – with Mr Breton last seen on January 21 and his sister-in-law three days later at a Marsden address.

Tuhirangi-Thomas Tahiata, 25, Ngatokoona Maretti, 36, Tepuna Tupuna Mariri, 25, Webbstar Latu, 31, Davy Malu Junior Taiao, 21, Stou Daniels, 21, and Trent Michael Thrupp, 22, have already been charged over the deaths.
