Elderly lady punched, war medals stolen during terrifying home burglary in Marsden

THREE balaclava-clad men have stormed a house in Marsden overnight, assaulting an elderly lady and taking off with a cash tin and war medals.

The shocking incident happened around 8.40pm, when the trio forced their way into an Ashmore Close home.

Police say they demanded money from the three residents before searching the home and stealing money and war medals.

A 68-year-old woman was punched in the shoulder during an altercation with one of the men, however managed to escape serious injury.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area to contact police.
