Elderly man charged after police seize heroin, methlamphetamine from home

Police have charged a 74-year-old man after prohibited drugs were seized during a raid in Darlinghurst yesterday.

Officers from Kings Cross Local Area Command have been investigating the supply of prohibited drugs in and around Darlinghurst during July 2015.

Just after 9.30am (Wednesday 5 August 2015), investigators executed a search warrant at a home in Womerah Lane, Darlinghurst.

Police arrested a 74-year-old man at the house and he was taken to Kings Cross Police Station.

Investigators will allege that during the search they seized cash and drug paraphernalia, prohibited drugs; heroin, methlamphetamine and cannabis.

The man was charged with supply prohibited drug, possess prohibited drug and deal with proceeds of crime.

He was refused bail to appear at Central Local Court today (Thursday 6 August 2015).
