Police have charged an elderly man after discovering dozens of inappropriate images and videos of women, that he had taken on his phone.
On the afternoon of July 5, officers were called to the Cairns Esplanade Lagoon after a man was seen filming women in the area.
Police seized the man’s phone where they allegedly uncovered a number of indecent images and videos of women taken in public areas in Cairns without their consent.

The 71-year-old Perth man has since been charged with 74 counts of recording in breach of privacy and is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on July 14.
The incident has prompted police to remind members of the public that if they see anyone behaving suspiciously to contact police.
