An elderly man is fighting for life in hospital after a near-drowning incident in Surfers Paradise yesterday.
Emergency services were called to Genoa Street around 7.00pm.
It’s understood the man – aged in his 70s – was pulled from the river.

Paramedics – including critical care and the high acuity response unit – were in attendance.
The man was treated briefly at the scene, before being rushed to hospital in a critical condition.
He remains fighting for life in the Gold Coast University Hospital.
