UPDATE 6:45PM | AN elderly gentleman who was knocked off his mobility scooter in a crash at Redcliffe today has sadly died in hospital.
The 97-year-old man was riding his motorised scooter across a pedestrian crossing on Anzac Avenue around 12.45pm when he was struck by a Hyundai station wagon.
The elderly man was rushed to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital but was pronounced deceased shortly after arriving, police said.

The 22-year-old woman who had been driving the Hyundai was treated for shock by paramedics at the scene.
Police are seeking anyone that may have witnessed the crash or may have a been in the area and has a dash camera to contact them via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
EARLIER: AN elderly man has been taken to hospital with head injuries after he was knocked off his mobility scooter when it was struck by a car in Brisbane’s north-east this afternoon.
It’s understood the man was attempting to ride his scooter across an intersection on Anzac Avenue in Redcliffe when he was struck.
The elderly gentleman sustained head injuries after being thrown from his mobility scooter and onto the roadway.
Paramedics treated and stabilised the man at the scene.
He has since been transported to hospital in a stable condition.
