Elderly NSW woman threatened with a knife during domestic

A woman has been accused of threatening a much older woman with a knife and stealing cash from her in a Sydney suburb.

Police say just after 11am on Wednesday the 47-year-old went to a home in Hoyle Drive, Dean Park and told a 75-year-old woman she wanted money.

When she refused, the younger woman allegedly grabbed a knife and threatened the older woman again. The 75-year-old then left the home and tried to get people passing by to help her.

The younger woman then allegedly stole cash from inside the house and when leaving, allegedly threatened the older woman again.

A complaint was made to Police who went to a home in Strathfield at around 1:00pm on Wednesday and arrested the 47-year-old woman.

She was taken to Burwood Police Station and charged with robbery whilst armed with an offensive weapon.

The woman was bail refused to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Thursday.
