Elderly woman missing from NSW retirement home found dead

An elderly woman who went missing from a retirement home on the New South Wales Central Coast has been found dead.

The 95-year-old left the facility at Tumbi Umbi on an assisted bike around 8.45am on Friday.

She was reported missing around midday sparking a major search by Police with PolAir also brought in to assist.


The woman’s body was discovered at around 4pm in water at Long Jetty.

Officers attempted to perform CPR but the woman could not be revived and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be the missing 95-year-old.

A report will now be prepared for the Coroner.
