Elderly woman pushed to the ground and robbed by two teens

A 64-year-old woman has sustained minor injuries following a bag-snatch in Waterloo.

Shortly after 8pm yesterday Tuesday 15 September 2015, a 64-year-old woman was walking along Cope Street, when she was approached from behind by two males.

The males grabbed the woman’s handbag and pushed her to the ground, before running off towards George Street.

Police were contacted and attended the scene. They spoke to the woman, who had sustained cuts to her elbow and a bump to her head, and her de-facto, who had been travelling a short distance ahead of the woman on his electric wheel-chair.

Inquiries into the matter are now underway and police are eager to hear from anyone who may be able to help them track down the offenders.

The males responsible for the robbery are described as being aged in their late teens and standing between 165 and 175cm tall. At the time of the robbery, they were wearing dark hooded-jumpers, dark tracksuit pants and had skeleton masks covering their faces.
