Elderly woman struck with nunchaku during violent home invasion

An elderly woman has been hit in the face with a nunchaku during a violent home invasion in Logan this morning.

Police say around 1.00am, two men forced their way into a Loganlea Road house by kicking in the front door.

While inside the home, one of the men started swinging around a nunchaku, causing extensive damage to walls.

He also allegedly seriously injured a 74-year-old woman who was struck in the face with the nunchaku.

She was rushed to hospital for treatment while 22-year-old man also inside the home sustained bruising to his arm.

The two men, aged 26 and 33, fled the scene and were arrested by police nearby.

The pair reportedly apologised after realising they had broken into the wrong house.

They are due to face Beenleigh Magistrates Court on August 18 charged with multiple offences including assault occasioning bodily harm, wilful damage and possession of a restricted item namely nunchaku.
