Election promises made for women and families

A number of promises are being made by the coalition and labor, as the election campaigns continue.

The Morrison Government is committing more money to help parents who are struggling to have a baby if re-elected.

$53 million will be spent subsidising the storage of egg, sperm and embryos for cancer patients or people with a genetic illness.


It will also include funding to help new parents who are struggling with peri-natal depression and anxiety.

Meantime, Labor is promising to bring in more economic measures to close the gender pay gap and improve career options for women.

The party’s latest election promise also includes industry support from a National Reconstruction Fund

While $11 million will go towards free play-groups in regional and remote areas.
