Electrical fault sparks factory blaze in Southport

Emergency services were called to a blaze in Southport overnight, which caused significant damage to a factory.

Fire fighters spent almost an hour battling the flames, which shattered windows and destroyed the front of the car workshop: Geoghegan Motors.

Three crews were required at the scene on Jackman Street, called in at 2.00am.


Luckily, no was injured in the incident.

It’s understood the blaze was sparked by an electrical fault.

Staff have reportedly told Newscorp they’re working to have the site ready for customers later in the day.
